Our three areas of focus for our first charity launch are education, mental health and homelessness.
We wanted to make sure that the charities chosen were not only inspirational but also objectively the best organizations possible. We used Charity Watch to help us vet the top performing charities measured by fundraising efficiency and % of funds directly used on programs. All charities chosen received at least an A grade in all areas tracked.
1. Donor’s Choose (donorschoose.org)
“We make it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.”
We love Donor’s Choose because of the direct impact it can make on specific classrooms throughout the country. Public school funding is severely lacking — and Donor’s Choose is really making a big difference in the lives of students.
2. American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (afsp.org)
“AFSP raises awareness, funds scientific research and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide.”
We love AFSP because they are doing amazing work combating the mental health crisis we face today. Through research, education and support systems — AFSP has worked hard to get past the negative stigmas around mental health and focus on taking action against this leading cause of death.
3. National Alliance to End Homelessness (endhomelessness.org)
“The National Alliance to End Homelessness is committed to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States.”
We love The National Alliance to End Homelessness because of their multi level strategy to fight homelessness. Through community-wide systems, rapid re-housing and income opportunity initiatives, they have done a remarkable job of helping those in need.
